0TS2462

High-Performance U.3 NVMe Enterprise SSD featuring dual-port availability with the 0TS2462

The 0TS2462 is a WD Ultrastar DC SN655 7.68TB internal NVMe U.3 2.5-inch SSD designed for read-intensive tiers where predictable latency and sustained throughput matter. Built on 3D TLC NAND and tuned for enterprise QoS, it supports up to 6,800 MB/s sequential reads and delivers high 4K read responsiveness for boot, cache, and hot datasets in shared server environments.

Architecturally, the 0TS2462 leverages PCIe NVMe connectivity through a U.3 backplane to simplify adoption in modern 2.5-inch storage bays while preserving a direct, low-overhead datapath for virtualization and database caching. Dual-port operation improves path resilience in high-availability storage designs, and power-loss protection helps maintain in-flight data integrity during unexpected outages. For secure deployments, the 0TS2462 provides SED capabilities with AES-256, Instant Secure Erase, and secure erase workflows aligned to controlled decommissioning and compliance requirements.

Why Choose the 0TS2462?

The 0TS2462 balances capacity density with read-optimized performance, making it a pragmatic building block for scaling NVMe storage tiers without overprovisioning write endurance. With 1 DWPD endurance and enterprise-class reliability targets, the 0TS2462 fits as a primary or secondary device in clustered servers, sustaining service levels while supporting straightforward lifecycle management in standardized U.3 infrastructures.

WD designs the Ultrastar portfolio around predictable behavior under mixed workloads, robust validation, and compatibility with modern data centre standards. The 0TS2462 aligns with operational requirements for consistent firmware behavior, power and thermal constraints in dense chassis, and security features expected in enterprise fleets.

Key Applications:

Server boot and caching for NVMe-enabled platforms
Read-intensive VM/VDI storage tiers
Database read caching and hot index acceleration
High-availability dual-path NVMe deployments
Encrypted data-at-rest for regulated environments

At Happyware - Server Hardware you benefit from non-binding offers tailored precisely to your NVMe storage rollout and an extended warranty option up to 6 years, helping you standardize procurement while reducing operational risk for the 0TS2462 across enterprise deployments.
