E10M20-T1 Synology 10G RJ45 PCIe 3.0 x8 Ethernet Network Card

High-Performance NAS Expansion Adapter delivering 10GbE copper uplink with the E10M20-T1

The E10M20-T1 is a Synology PCIe add-in network adapter designed to remove uplink bottlenecks in DSM-based NAS environments by introducing a dedicated 10GbE RJ45 interface on a low-profile card. Installed in a single PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, the E10M20-T1 aligns bandwidth with modern multi-client file services and enables consistent throughput for shared storage without requiring a platform refresh.

By leveraging PCIe 3.0 x8 connectivity, the E10M20-T1 provides sufficient host-side headroom for sustained line-rate transfers while keeping latency predictable under mixed workloads. This architecture is suited to storage traffic patterns driven by virtualization datastores, backup repositories, and high-ingest collaboration shares, where the network path is often the limiting factor. The RJ45 10GbE copper interface simplifies integration into existing switching fabrics and structured cabling, allowing the E10M20-T1 to be deployed as a targeted performance upgrade within compact rack or tower NAS footprints.

Why Choose the E10M20-T1?

The E10M20-T1 offers a practical density-to-performance improvement by converting an available PCIe slot into an enterprise-relevant 10GbE uplink for Synology NAS systems, improving consolidation and reducing transfer windows. The E10M20-T1 supports scalable adoption of faster client connectivity and higher-speed interconnects for backup and replication, while maintaining operational consistency through DSM-aligned driver and management integration.

Synology engineering emphasizes predictable behavior in production storage, with components validated for continuous operation and integration with DSM lifecycle management. The E10M20-T1 follows this approach by providing a standards-based Ethernet interface that aligns with common data centre cabling practices and controlled change management.

Key Applications:

• 10GbE NAS throughput upgrades
• Virtualization datastores over Ethernet
• Backup and restore repositories
• Branch and SMB shared storage consolidation
• High-speed replication and file synchronization
