Enterprise Server CPU Platform foundation with Sapphire Rapids architecture using the Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y

The Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y is a 4th Gen Xeon Scalable “Sapphire Rapids” processor for LGA4677, designed to anchor modern rack and blade server nodes where predictable performance, platform longevity, and validated firmware ecosystems are mandatory. With a 24-core/48-thread layout and Intel 7 process technology, the Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y targets balanced consolidation and compute density while maintaining controlled power envelopes for air-cooled data centres.

Built for DDR5 memory subsystems and high-throughput I/O, the Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y enables architects to scale memory bandwidth for virtualization-heavy hosts and database tiers without overprovisioning sockets. Up to 80 PCIe 5.0 lanes support high-speed NICs, NVMe storage backplanes, and accelerator connectivity, reducing contention in mixed workloads. In multi-socket platforms with UPI links, the Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y provides a scalable topology for shared-everything designs and clustered middleware deployments, while Intel VT-x and VT-d streamline device passthrough and secure workload isolation.

Why Choose the Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y?

The Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y delivers an efficient density-to-performance profile for enterprise refresh cycles that must standardize on LGA4677, DDR5, and PCIe 5.0 across multiple node types. The Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y is well-suited for growth-oriented server fleets, providing consistent consolidation ratios, reliable platform behavior under sustained load, and straightforward scaling from single-socket value nodes to up to 4-socket systems.

Intel engineering prioritizes deterministic operation, robust RAS features, and security-by-design to align CPU platforms with modern data centre compliance and supply-chain expectations. With technologies such as TME, Intel TXT, SGX, and Boot Guard, the Intel Xeon Gold 5418Y supports hardened deployment models for shared infrastructure.

Key Applications:

• Server virtualization and VM consolidation
