MCX556A-EDAT

High-Performance Dual-Port 100GbE/InfiniBand NIC with RDMA acceleration using the MCX556A-EDAT

The MCX556A-EDAT is a Mellanox ConnectX-5 Ex adapter designed for PCIe 4.0 x16 hosts to sustain low-latency, high-throughput fabrics for AI, HPC, and virtualised clusters. MCX556A-EDAT delivers dual QSFP28 connectivity for Ethernet or InfiniBand, enabling RoCE-based RDMA and efficient east-west traffic while aligning with modern memory and storage I/O paths through protocol offloads and deterministic timing.

Why Choose the MCX556A-EDAT?

MCX556A-EDAT optimises port density and fabric flexibility without compromising reliability, and scales cleanly in leaf-spine or cluster interconnect topologies. MCX556A-EDAT reduces CPU overhead via advanced offloads for consistent performance under load.

Mellanox engineering prioritises predictable latency, standards-based interoperability, and data centre robustness, supporting PXE/UEFI boot and IEEE 1588v2 PTP for operational consistency in enterprise environments.

Key Applications:

HPC and AI cluster interconnect
RoCE-enabled virtualisation and containers
High-throughput server uplinks
Leaf-spine data centre fabrics

At Happyware - Server Hardware you benefit from non-binding offers tailored to your deployment and bulk order discount options when standardising MCX556A-EDAT across racks or clusters.
