88887119

High-Density 3U Rackmount Storage Server Chassis featuring 16 Hot-Swap Bays with the 88887119

The 88887119 is a 3U rack server chassis engineered as a storage-focused platform for enterprise JBOD or RAID builds, providing a front-serviceable drive plane designed to keep nearline capacity online during maintenance. By pairing the 88887119 with an ATX, E-ATX, or SSI-EEB server motherboard and your chosen CPU generation, architects can align compute resources precisely to the storage stack, from HBA-driven JBOD to software-defined storage with RAID, erasure coding, or ZFS.

Its memory architecture and PCIe expansion capabilities are determined by the installed board, enabling designs that prioritise either high-core-count CPU throughput for storage services or balanced configurations for virtualisation and general-purpose workloads. The 88887119 centres the storage path around 16 external 3.5"/2.5" hot-swap bays for rapid drive replacement, complemented by additional internal 2.5" bays for OS boot devices and a 5.25" bay for auxiliary options. Front USB 3.0 supports local service workflows, while 120 mm fan mounts provide predictable airflow planning for high-capacity HDD populations.

Why Choose the 88887119?

The 88887119 delivers a strong density-to-serviceability ratio in 3U, enabling a single-node storage chassis that simplifies rack layout and cable management while keeping critical components accessible from the cold aisle. With broad motherboard form-factor support, the 88887119 scales from cost-controlled backup nodes to higher-performance storage servers, helping standardise on one enclosure across multiple deployment profiles.

Inter-Tech designs server enclosures with a pragmatic focus on mechanical robustness, maintainability, and data centre compatibility. The platform follows established rackmount conventions, supports structured airflow planning, and meets RoHS requirements for regulated environments.

Key Applications:

JBOD and HBA-based storage nodes
RAID storage server builds
Backup repositories
Archive and nearline HDD tiers
Virtualisation host with high local capacity

At Happyware - Server Hardware you benefit from non-binding offers tailored to your 88887119 configuration and an extended warranty of up to 6 years to protect long-life storage deployments.
