Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y 16 Cores 32 Threads 4.1GHz E (LGA 4677) PK8072205559800 Server CPU

Enterprise 1U/2U Rack Server CPU Platform Optimization with Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y for LGA4677 Refresh Cycles

The Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y (SKU PK8072205559800) is a 5th Gen Xeon Scalable “Emerald Rapids” server processor designed for 1U/2U rack server refresh and scale-up nodes where predictable per-core performance and platform bandwidth drive consolidation outcomes. With 1S/2S capability over up to 3 UPI links, the Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y fits balanced dual-socket topologies for virtualized clusters and data services that require consistent latency and deterministic scheduling behavior.

On the memory side, the Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y leverages a DDR5 ECC server platform supporting up to 4TB capacity and up to 5200 MT/s, enabling higher VM density and larger in-memory datasets while maintaining enterprise error correction. For I/O expansion, PCIe 5.0 support with up to 80 lanes per CPU provides headroom for modern NICs, NVMe storage backplanes, and accelerator-adjacent designs. The Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y also aligns with CPU inference and acceleration-enabled workloads through Intel AMX, DSA, and DL Boost, reducing dependency on discrete acceleration for targeted pipelines.

Why Choose the Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y?

The Intel Xeon Gold 6544Y delivers a pragmatic density-to-performance profile for mixed enterprise workloads, pairing strong single-thread responsiveness with scalable socket configurations and high I/O concurrency. It is well-suited for standardized fleet deployments where virtualization, database performance, and PCIe 5.0 expansion must scale without overprovisioning compute or memory footprints.

Intel designs Xeon Scalable processors for long lifecycle platforms and data centre operational consistency, with features for secure multitenancy and platform integrity. Support for Intel C741 chipset ecosystems and enterprise tooling simplifies qualification, firmware governance, and predictable serviceability across rack deployments.
