X557T2OCPG1P5 Intel OCP X557-T2 10G RJ45 Ethernet Network Card

High-Density OCP NIC Module delivering dual 10GbE Base-T connectivity with the X557T2OCPG1P5

The X557T2OCPG1P5 is an OCP plug-in networking adapter engineered for server platforms that require copper-based 10GbE uplinks without consuming a PCIe add-in slot. Built around the Intel Ethernet Controller X557-T2, the module provides 2 x 10GBase-T RJ45 ports to integrate cleanly into OCP-compatible rack servers and composable infrastructure where predictable networking behavior is mandatory.

From an architecture perspective, X557T2OCPG1P5 supports balanced bandwidth allocation for virtualization clusters and multi-tenant hosts by enabling dedicated 10GbE paths for management, storage, or east-west VM traffic. By keeping high-speed networking on the OCP mezzanine interface, the platform preserves PCIe lanes and riser capacity for accelerators, NVMe expansion, or additional I/O, improving overall node design flexibility. The copper RJ45 physical layer simplifies integration into existing Category cabling environments and edge deployments where SFP+ optics are operationally unnecessary.

Why Choose the X557T2OCPG1P5?

The X557T2OCPG1P5 provides a practical density-to-performance upgrade path for OCP-ready servers by delivering dual 10GbE over Base-T with enterprise-grade controller integration. It aligns with scalable data centre rollouts by standardizing on an OCP NIC footprint, enabling consistent lifecycle management, predictable network topology planning, and serviceable modular replacement in the field.

Intel engineering emphasizes controller stability, long-term platform compatibility, and robust driver support for enterprise operating systems and hypervisors. This focus helps ensure the X557T2OCPG1P5 integrates into modern data centre standards where uptime, repeatable provisioning, and controlled change management are critical.

Key Applications:

• Virtualization hosts and hypervisor clusters
• Server management and out-of-band adjacent uplinks
• Edge and branch compute nodes
• 10GbE copper aggregation to Top-of-Rack switches
