SSDPE2KE016T701
High-Performance U.2 NVMe Datacenter SSD for read-intensive tiers with the SSDPE2KE016T701
The SSDPE2KE016T701 is an Intel DC P4600 Series 2.5" U.2 NVMe SSD engineered for PCIe Gen3 server platforms that need predictable latency under mixed virtualization and database profiles. Integrated into modern dual-socket CPU architectures, it provides a high-density storage tier that keeps hot data close to compute without consuming scarce PCIe lanes needed for NICs, accelerators, or HBA connectivity.
Built on TLC NAND with Intel High Endurance Technology, the SSDPE2KE016T701 balances high random read throughput with strong sustained write capability for logging and analytics scratch. Its NVMe design reduces protocol overhead versus legacy SATA/SAS paths, while power-loss protection and end-to-end data protection preserve in-flight writes and metadata consistency during unplanned events. As a self-encrypting drive, the SSDPE2KE016T701 supports AES-256 encryption at rest to align with secure multi-tenant clusters and compliance-driven deployments.
Why Choose the SSDPE2KE016T701?
The SSDPE2KE016T701 delivers an enterprise-focused density-to-performance ratio for U.2 front-bay architectures, enabling scalable hot-tier expansion with standardized serviceability. With endurance rated at 3.079 DWPD over 5 years and reliability targets suited to 24/7 operation, it supports consolidation of read-intensive databases, VM datastores, and caching layers while maintaining operational headroom for burst writes and background maintenance.
Intel designs the P4600 family around consistent QoS, validated firmware behavior, and datacenter telemetry, including temperature monitoring and event logging. This engineering approach aligns with modern rack-scale standards where predictable performance, secure data handling, and controlled power envelopes are required across large node counts.
Key Applications:
- Read-intensive databases
- Virtualization and VM datastores
- NVMe caching tiers
- Hot data tiers in hybrid/all-flash arrays
- Logging and analytics scratch space
