Intel Core i7-12700T 12 Cores 20 Threads 4.7GHz V (LGA 1700) CM8071504555117 CPU

Power-Efficient Edge and Client CPU Platform built around the Intel Core i7-12700T for LGA1700 Deployments

The Intel Core i7-12700T (SKU CM8071504555117) is a 12th Gen Alder Lake processor designed for single-socket LGA1700 systems where predictable performance per watt and modern platform I/O are primary constraints. With a hybrid core design and 20 threads, it supports mixed consolidation workloads while maintaining low thermal density for compact desktops, edge nodes, and branch-office compute.

In LGA1700 platforms, the Intel Core i7-12700T enables DDR5 memory architectures up to 128GB for higher bandwidth and improved concurrency in virtualization labs and container hosts, with ECC indicated depending on board validation. Up to 20 CPU-attached PCIe lanes with PCIe 4.0/5.0 support allow balanced expansion for high-speed NICs, NVMe storage, or accelerator-class add-ins, while Intel VMD improves NVMe manageability and boot resiliency. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 supports multi-display output, reducing the need for a discrete GPU in infrastructure consoles and iGPU-enabled builds.

Why Choose the Intel Core i7-12700T?

The Intel Core i7-12700T provides a practical density-to-performance profile for enterprise client fleets and edge deployments that must scale consistently across standardized LGA1700 images. The platform integrates VT-x/VT-d for isolation and device passthrough, hardware-backed security features such as Boot Guard and Intel TXT, and instruction support including AES-NI and AVX2 for secure services and accelerated data paths.

Intel designs the Intel Core i7-12700T to align with modern system engineering requirements: robust virtualization extensions, secure boot chain enforcement, and I/O capabilities that map cleanly to PCIe NVMe storage and high-throughput networking in managed environments.

Key Applications:

• Edge compute nodes and branch-office servers
• Virtualization and container lab hosts
• Corporate VDI endpoints and power-managed desktops
• NVMe-centric workstations for engineering tools
• iGPU-enabled infrastructure consoles
